Overview:
The Research Topic is a two page narrative of a proposed research topic or idea. This assignment begins preliminary research that the student will continue all term followed by the Research Prospectus Assignment, the Annotated Bibliography Assignment, and concluding with the Research Project Assignment.
INSTRUCTIONS
The Research Topic Assignment describes a general topic of historical research, notes the topic’s significance, and suggests areas of potential inquiry. The Research Topic Assignment must include the following:
1. Abstract of the research topic which includes a summary of what the student wants to “find out” from their research.
2. Six quotations from scholarly sources that might be used later in their research demonstrating the importance of the student’s research question. These quotations must be cited using Turabian.
3. Seven sources in bibliography format using the current version of Turabian.
4. The quotations and bibliography in this Research Topic Assignment must include at least one source from each of the following databases.
