The paper needs a title page and abstract, the literature review needs to be compiled. The text needs specific citations (+ footnotes) added to it – this is important. Can we include detailed discussion of the different varieties of conservatism? Is ‘ecologism’ inconsistent with all forms of conservatism? What about same-sex marriage? The methodology of the paper needs work. I think we also need to analyse policy documents and interviews. I’m not sure the case studies are of relevance to the central questions of the dissertation – do they attempt to document and understand the UK Conservative Party’s shift away from conservatism, or to compare the party to European counterparts? Do we need a discussion of why certain Conservative beliefs are actually Conservative? Can we demonstrate an understanding of qhat qualitative methods are and how to employ them systematically? Definition of key concepts? Total word count should be about 10,000, a slight uplift is acceptable.
