Your final for this course is a letter to Elon President Connie Book making the argument that Elon should be teaching all students about travel and tourism. TALK ABOUT HOW SO MANY STUDENTS GO ABROAD SO THEY NEED TO TAKE THIS CLASS.
This final will allow you to articulate what you’ve learned about the tourism industry, and its relationship with society in general, in this course.
You can read this blog post to learn more about writing an effective business letter. Your letter should be written in the modified block format using the attached template.
You’re encouraged to use personal examples and your own stories into your letter, but remember that the focus of the letter should be on communicating your suggestions and supporting them with evidence. Too much/unnecessary “I” language takes the focus away from the content and puts it onto the writer, even if it’s not done on purpose.
Because this is a business letter, your language should be formal and your writing should be technically correct. Please submit your assignment as a MS Word or Adobe PDF document; these are the only two document formats that will be accepted.
